The Vegas Sports and Information Network is projecting that nationwide legal betting handle for Super Bowl 54 will top $300 million for the first time, which would be about $100 million more than last season. The spread is a pick ’em at most shops, though some books have Kansas City favored by a point, and the total is in the range of 55 or 56.
Some viewers might prefer the prop bets, and they can touch on a number of aspects of the game. According to Doug Harbach, the Communications Director for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, the state did sign off on one new prop this year, as it will allow bettors to pick which team will win the opening coin toss, “since that does pertain to and have and effect on the outcome of the athletic contest.
